Pray Until Heaven Invades Your Situation!

In my personal opinion, we have yet to discover the depths to which God has sovereignly chosen to wait for — and rely upon — the deep-hearted, earnest, persevering prayers of His people before His answers are dispatched from Heaven to Earth.

Elijah was an outstanding prophet of God in Israel’s history. He was a man through whom God poured great measures of His divine power to accomplish great signs and wonders to confirm and affirm God’s messages spoken through him to Israel.

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.

Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.”

📖 James‬ ‭5:16-18

Let’s be people who devote ourselves to developing our prayer life, and to discovering the depths to which God intends that we earnestly pray.

See you at the altar of prayer, the place where God pours out His power and effectiveness from Heaven and into our situations.

Sometimes… Do Nothing But Pray

Sometimes God does not want us to do anything, except pray and then watch. This was one of those times for Israel.

“‘Our God… we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.’

… This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s…. You will not have to fight this battle.

Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you… Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’

… and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. Then some Levites… stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.”

📖 2 Chronicles‬ ‭20:12-19‬

See you at the altar of prayer where God gives to us His instructions… where SOMETIMES He issues the decree: “Just stand still and WATCH what I am going to do!”

Pray-Thru!

A Daily Thought Provoker Quote

from Heart & Path Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

Daniel believed in the veracity of persistent prayer, to ‘pray thru.’ His 21 days of prayer and fasting (to receive understanding from God for an earlier vision) was affirmed by an angel: There was a 3-week spiritual war in the heavenly dimension that was won as a result of his ‘pray-thru’ approach.

The angel was strategically and powerfully supported through Daniel’s persistent prayer–even though he did not know or understand the big picture until later.

God’s Full Anticipation of Our Full Participation

The scriptures analogically refer to life’s spiritual conflicts as forms of military combat and sporting competition, and to us believers as soldiers and athletes.

If we could see with our physical eyes what we look like spiritually, would we see ourselves as genuine carriers of the “marks of Christ” (as the Apostle Paul said that he did)?

“… for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.”‭‭

~ Paul, Galatians‬ ‭6:17‬

Would we see a fresh application of the blood of Jesus Christ to our life, mixed with our own fresh blood from the wounds received in victorious combat? Would we see upon us scars from battles where [with Christ] we had won hard-fought victories in the recent past?

Some fellow believers do not like the analogies [for the spiritual life] of combat and sporting competition, of soldiers and athletes. To them, it sounds too violent or too physical, and not intelligent or sophisticated enough.

However, there are very good reasons why scripture frequently uses the combat and sporting analogies:

  • Life is dangerous,
  • Life is strenuous,
  • Life is competitive,
  • Life can end with eternal death, and
  • Life is an intense war filled with battles.

This particular war has no allowance for “conscientious objectors” or for “pacifists.” Granted, how we engage in the war can and should be prayerfully considered and discussed, but a rejection of participating in this “war” or this “competition” is not acceptable in the eyes of God.

Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, inspiring them to have a clear perspective and mindset, not one of pacifism but of spiritual combat when participating in the full realm of life:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devilʼs schemes.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then…

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lordʼs people.”

‭‭~ Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-18‬

We have been provided “the full armor of God” (or in the sporting analogy, the ‘football gear of God’) complete with “weapons of warfare” (that have Divine fire-power) with God’s full anticipation of our full participation!

See you at the altar of prayer, my friends. It’s time for war!

Devil Smacker

Are you a bed-ridden follower of Jesus Christ?

He wants to utilize you in His kingdom warfare. He wants to use you like a “battle-ax” to conquer the Dark Side.

You are My battle-ax and weapons of war:
For with you I will break the nation in pieces;
With you I will destroy kingdoms;
With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider;
With you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider;
… And with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers.”

( Jeremiah 51:20-23 )

He has weapons that are mighty through God for pulling down strongholds and messengers of death.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God…”

( 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 )

He will wage war through your willing and faith-filled heart that will agree with His will in prayer.

If you feel about as effective as a bed-ridden sick person with a heavy fry pan facing an army with death in their eyes, don’t forget what a faith filled shepherd boy did with just a sling and a stone.

From our beds, let’s pray like Elijah. Let’s pray like Paul. Let’s pray like Jesus. Through Christ we can be very victorious as conquering Devil smackers!
