Pastors, Master the Art of Prayer

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote
from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net
by David J. Hall

The soul-winner must be a master of the art of prayer. You cannot bring souls to God if you go not to God yourself. You must get your battle-ax, and your weapons of war, from the armoury of sacred communication with Christ. If you are much alone with Jesus, you will catch His Spirit; you will be fired with the flame that burned in His breast, and consumed His life.”

A Daily Appearance Before God

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote
from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

Human nature being what it is, if we stand before our boss everyday to verify the quality of our work and the progress we are making in personal and professional development, then we become much more focused and motivated in our daily job and life performance.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

( ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ )

The Apostle Paul encouraged his protege, Timothy, to regularly present himself to God for review. This wasn’t because God was otherwise unaware of Timothy’s life and ministry, but because the voluntary frequent (daily perhaps) accountability with God would have a powerful daily effect upon Timothy’s anointed professionalism, his character development, and his truthful and wise handling of the scriptures in his teaching and in his leadership.

Peace in the Here and Now

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

Are you presently unable to minister in your usual forum due to health or circumstances that are beyond your control? While I encourage you to pray for God’s help in the area of your troubles, I also encourage you to be at peace with where He has you.

He never ‘wastes’ the lives nor the deaths of His servants. Ask the Lord to define for you the mission that He has for you within the arena which you are currently ‘stuck.’

When Our Crown Becomes Thorns

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

image-5

The Crown for Leadership which becomes a Crown of Thorns should not be a surprise, it is not a strange thing. Jesus warns us that if people hated Him, they would hate us too. So, in the words of Peter, it was ‘to this you were called’ (1 Peter 2:20-23)

How did Jesus find the strength to endure and to keep depression at bay while people hated Him? ‘He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly’ (v.23). He did this through praying alone often, very often!

Fueled by Vision or Sedated by Fantasy?

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

A couple of practical definitions that relate to our daily work ethic:

“A Vision is a snapshot revelation of the future that inspires one everyday to work diligently at building toward its full realization.”

“A Fantasy is a greed-feeding daydream of the future that lulls one to believe that work is unnecessary for its fulfillment, expecting the daydream’s mysterious materialization.”

Are we fueled by a Vision, or sedated by a Fantasy?

Leaders: Mentor!

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote
from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net
by David J. Hall

There is an association of more than 400 young men who express a commitment to learn how to honor God in every area of life. They were asked if they regularly meet with an older man for advice, encouragement, accountability, or prayer.

Only 2% said yes.

But, 98% said they would welcome that kind of relationship.

Christian Leaders, it’s assumable that 98% of your group [who are committed to personal growth and development in godliness] would welcome a Mentoring Relationship with you, or with one of the group’s other leaders.

Communication vs Assumption

A Daily Thought Provoker Quote

“The majority of the mistakes that I made in the first half of my days as a leader were not due to my [very real and ever present] limitations in knowledge or spirituality.

The majority of my mistakes took place when I made assumptions about people and/or situations, rather than communicating early in a process.

The acts of communication circumvent the landmines of assumption.”
