Our Future Freedom from Sin

The following was an experience that I had with our Heavenly Father in the mid-1990’s. I don’t recall having ever put this encounter into written form—in whole or in part, though I have verbally spoken of it to a very small and select group of close siblings in Christ.

To My Muslim Friends

The God of Abraham (Jehovah) is not the same as Allah, even if a Muslim declares it so.

Jesus, whom you revere as a prophet (but not as the crucified and resurrected Son of God) spoke to some Jews who claimed that their God was also Jehovah. Jesus pointed clearly to the fact that just because one claims to follow the God of Abraham does not mean that it is in reality true of them.

“Jesus replied, ‘If I glorify Myself, My glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies Me.

Though you do not know Him, I know Him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know Him and obey His word.

Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing My day; he saw it and was glad.’”

~ John‬ ‭8:54-56‬

Following the God of Abraham means more than a religious adherence. It involves a love and an obedience (from the heart) to God’s words, spoken through His Son, Jesus Christ. This is absolutely true for everyone, regardless of their culture or religious heritage.

Even Christians who believe that Jehovah is the God of Abraham, and believe that Jesus Christ is His crucified and resurrected Son, must also obey the word of God. Without obedience to the One True God, there is no hope, there is no forgiveness, there is no salvation, there will be no Heaven after this life.

The Bible clearly states that even demons believe that Jehovah is the God of Abraham, and yet they shudder with fear at the enormity of His true identity, and they have no hope and no future.

“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”

~ James‬ ‭2:19‬

My Muslim Friends, I do not despise you for any reason, or because of your current religion and participation in Islam. You are my fellow human beings. You know pain like I do, you know sickness like I do, you know the weight of the guilt from sin like I used to. Yes, past tense regarding sin.

Through Jesus Christ and His Father, the God of Abraham, I have experienced the power of God that brings life into the soul. There are many religions in this world, but only a sincere heart-acceptance of Abraham’s God and His Son, Jesus Christ, has the power to break the hold and the guilt of sin.

I know you believe in the practice of prayer. As a Muslim, you have no doubt prayed many, many times. However, if Allah has not responded to your prayers and brought peace into your heart, perhaps it is because you have been addressing your prayers to the wrong god.

Try praying the following out loud:

🔹”I pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I pray to the God that created the universe, and created me.
🔹Please, reveal Yourself to me in a way that I will know it is really You. I want to know the One True God of the universe.
🔹And if Jesus Christ is Your Son (and was crucified and died upon a cross, and resurrected from the dead for the forgiveness of my sins) please, I want to know the truth.
🔹I want to know The True God that will give to me true, eternal life, forgiveness for my sin, and peace.”

Now, look forward to hearing from The One True God!

The Archives of Heaven

Each person who has ever lived has every one of their sins, their sins of commission and sins of omission, recorded in a set of books. Every single sin is recorded with absolute accuracy, and without partiality; there is no embellishing nor is there any diminishing. Each person will be judged and sentenced to punishment on the basis of their exact record.

Well, not everyone. There is a single book that has a list of names in it, it’s called the Book of Life. This list is comprised of names only, no other entries of deeds done. This one book only contains the list of names of people who are to be pardoned by the Judge. Their pardon has not been earned by having a smaller number of sin-entries in the other large set of books, nor because of recordings of good deeds in some other archives.

“And I saw the dead… standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books… each person was judged according to what they had done… Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

~ Revelation 20:12-15

The pardon for sin will be received only by those who (while alive) had asked Jesus Christ to forgive them of their sin, and had lived the rest of their life engaged with Him and trusted Him with their eternity.

Your sins are being recorded, but is your name recorded in the list for pardons, is it recorded in the Book of Life?

Strategic Training for Our Children

Training and preparing our children for life and eternity involves far more than just providing housing and an education. It requires a lot of loving relational time, personal sacrifice, strategic parenting, role modeling, and most of all, intercessory prayer.

As human beings, our early years are our formative years, where our thought patterns and character are first shaped through observing parental role models and through parental discipline so that the rest of our lives we have a picture of what we should be like.

“Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it.”

‭~Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬

As parents, as role models, as shepherds of God’s children we have been entrusted with the responsibility and the opportunity to raise up children to know how to walk with Christ through life and how to enter into eternity’s Heaven. Too often history’s lesson has been that absent parents make for an emptier Heaven, while engaged parents make for a more populated Heaven.

Whatever our role is among God’s children, be it as parents, teachers, pastors, or as a good neighbor, let’s awaken every morning with a fresh perspective on how we can populate eternity’s Heaven by training “a child in the way they should go.”

Reservations for New Jerusalem

The other day a thought struck me, bringing great joy and excitement to me, that Teresa and I are going to be living in Israel soon!

For those of us who follow Christ in our faith, we have a new hometown to look forward to in the near future for eternity!

“The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of My God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My God; and I will also write on them My new name.”

( Revelation‬ ‭3:12‬ )

There are two hometown options for a person to choose from in regard to eternity. The city of New Jerusalem is the preferred option, the second option is much, much less desirable as it is in a desert climate.

Have you asked the Lord for your free airfare reservation for your transportation? If you will love Him and ask of Him, He will write your name in the book of reservations. He has already paid the price for you.

Be ready, as His charter air service will be arriving soon to pick up all of His pre-ticketed friends. Watch for the “Rapture” charter air service whose promo tag is “You will be Caught Up into the Air by our service!” The flight’s boarding call will be announced by a trumpet blast.

Your reservation is not only for the Rapture air service. It also serves as the reservation for your very own home in the city of New Jerusalem, a home designed by Him specifically with you in mind. The construction has been underway for about 2,000 years!

As a beautiful song says:

“People get ready,
Jesus is coming,
To take from the world His own.”
