Portland Protesters, PLEASE Beware!

Portland, Oregon has (in recent history) had a very active army of protesters. Their purposes and messages are usually distorted by their chaotic antics, and at times are outright incoherent.

Anarchists and mobsters usually join the public foray, instigating the unlawful destruction of property and creating dangerous situations for well meaning and law abiding protesters, business owners and employees, and police and emergency personnel.

PROTESTERS, PLEASE BEWARE!

I do NOT want the following tragedies to transpire, however will you hear the following warning?

Please, beware of the possible outcomes of your actions. You are entering an atmosphere in our community when playing with fire just might end up burning you. I do NOT want these things to happen, so please do not erroneously interpret my warning as a threat, or a wish list, or a veiled call for people to revolt against the revolters.

So far, your demonstrations and associated actions have been mostly tolerated by the general public. However, the toleration of SOME citizens is wearing very thin, and they themselves are on the borderline of becoming criminal in their reactions to you. Your destruction of property, your blocking of roads, and even your in-your-face screaming at non-protesters may be met with deadly force.

The next few roads and freeways that you block as a mob tactic, there may be one or two drivers who might genuinely feel their own lives are endangered enough by the surrounding mod to prompt them to plow right through your arm-in-arm road blocks. You may be hurt, maimed, or even killed!

Even if you are convinced in your own mind that you would “never hurt anyone,” your actions are communicating a very different message. Other citizens do not have the privilege of reading your mind and knowing your heart; all they are able to do is look at the mob that is surrounding them with signs on wooden 2×4’s, facial expressions of anger, voices that are loud and incoherent when raised with 100 other voices at the same time, and seeing reports of buildings and vehicles being destroyed.

If you feel the need to demonstrate and protest, then do so with intelligence and common sense, not with mob-sense. If you feel you need to lay your life on the line in order to take a stand, then give your life daily to the productive service of your community and your country. If you insist on using the mob-tactic to announce your message incoherently, don’t be surprised when your friend who is arm-in-arm with you gets run over by a car.

Protesters, please… BE SAFE, and police yourselves. If anarchists hijack your demonstration, find the police and point them toward those who are creating trouble. If the mob gets out of hand, leave! Better to live another day. If your friend gets crazy, be the calming influence for them. You just might save their life!

It’s Our Blood On Our Hands

Our own personal sin does extreme violence to our soul, causing an unrecoverable wound that develops an incurable infection, destroying our soul’s immune system that makes us susceptible to the viruses of Satan’s temptations, deceptions, and lies. Without a Divine intervention, the end result of our own personal sin is an existence of suffering in this world, followed by an eternity in a hell, a final separation from God that the human mind cannot comprehend.

“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken falsely, and your tongue mutters wicked things.”

~ Isaiah 59:1-3

We have our own blood upon our own hands due to our own sin. No other tragedy, suffering, and sorrow that may come our way in this lifetime is ever really comparable to what we have done to ourselves.

And yet we have this human propensity to rage against God when extreme violence, illness, or tragedy comes our way as a result of others’ sins against us, or just seemingly random events. Our being stabbed, raped, robbed, divorced, falsely accused, exposed to HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases, abused physically and emotionally, widowed by a murderer, laced with cancer, gripped by organ failure, bankrupted by medical bills… the list can be long. However, whatever might happen to us in this lifetime is never as big and tragic as what our own personal sin has done to our own body and soul.

Perhaps you beg to differ because you have suffered some very heinous and totally reprehensible things in your life that are not a direct result of your own sin. I won’t begin to compare scars with you, but I do make the point out of some personal experience, not callous ignorance.

Please understand, I am not diminishing what we have suffered. In fact, it is the largeness of what we have suffered to which I am drawing our attention. Our own personal sin has done more violence and tragedy to our own body and soul than what anyone else (human or demon) or anything else has possibly done to us.

We may not physically die for a few years or even for several decades, but the violence perpetrated by our sin upon our own body and soul still results in the biggest, most traumatic thing that can ever be done to us. So, the next time something bad happens in our life and we are tempted to rage at God, let’s stop and reconsider how much more we have done to ourselves than what anyone else or anything else has done.

In either case, God desperately wants to hear from us. He has a plan for us that will change everything that we have done to ourselves, and that others have done to us.

“They will say of Me, ‘In the Lord alone are deliverance and strength.

All who have raged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame. But all the descendants of Israel will find deliverance in the Lord and will make their boast in Him.”

~ ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:24-25‬

Devil Smacker

Are you a bed-ridden follower of Jesus Christ?

He wants to utilize you in His kingdom warfare. He wants to use you like a “battle-ax” to conquer the Dark Side.

You are My battle-ax and weapons of war:
For with you I will break the nation in pieces;
With you I will destroy kingdoms;
With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider;
With you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider;
… And with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers.”

( Jeremiah 51:20-23 )

He has weapons that are mighty through God for pulling down strongholds and messengers of death.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God…”

( 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 )

He will wage war through your willing and faith-filled heart that will agree with His will in prayer.

If you feel about as effective as a bed-ridden sick person with a heavy fry pan facing an army with death in their eyes, don’t forget what a faith filled shepherd boy did with just a sling and a stone.

From our beds, let’s pray like Elijah. Let’s pray like Paul. Let’s pray like Jesus. Through Christ we can be very victorious as conquering Devil smackers!
