When the Dictators Finally Die

Fidel Castro, communist revolutionary and self-enriching strongman of the small Caribbean nation of Cuba, has passed away at the age of 90. The cruel spirit in which he treated all of the Cuban people and specifically, persecuted the Christian church, resulted in an estimated 100,000 murders.

A lifetime of incarceration and torture were also standard fare for people who spoke against his regime, resisted his orders, or tried to escape the island nation on makeshift rafts. Millions of people have suffered poverty, hunger, illness, and basic human rights during his dictatorial reign as a thug disguised as a revolutionary for freedom.

He leaves behind an estimated net worth of $900 million dollars which [along with his power-base] will most likely be transferred to his 85 year old brother, Raul Castro.

“… when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.”

( Proverbs ‭11:10‬ )

The Cuban people need our intercessory prayer, especially during this time of transition.

A Daily Appearance Before God

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote
from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

image-5

Human nature being what it is, if we stand before our boss everyday to verify the quality of our work and the progress we are making in personal and professional development, then we become much more focused and motivated in our daily job and life performance.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

( ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ )

The Apostle Paul encouraged his protege, Timothy, to regularly present himself to God for review. This wasn’t because God was otherwise unaware of Timothy’s life and ministry, but because the voluntary frequent (daily perhaps) accountability with God would have a powerful daily effect upon Timothy’s anointed professionalism, his character development, and his truthful and wise handling of the scriptures in his teaching and in his leadership.

The Jesus Renewal: “Come Away with Me”

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote
from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

Church Boards: Consider refreshing your church’s staff by sending them on a get-away for renewal, beyond the easy reach of those whom they serve on a daily basis. Jesus planned that with His own Apostles who had just returned from a ministry tour.

“The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them,

Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’

So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.”

Harvest-Time Thanksgiving Festivals

A Daily Thought Provoker Quote
from Heart & Path Journal at HeartPathJournal.net
Online Publications of David J. Hall

image-5

“The Old Testament’s Festival of Tabernacles was a post-harvest weeklong celebration for thanksgiving to God. The festival included the preparation and eating of lots of food, playing and listening to lots of music, engaging in lots of personal conversations, and expressing a lot of thanks to God in gatherings of prayer and worship.”

“Celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress. Be joyful at your festival… all who live in your towns. For seven days celebrate the festival to the Lord… God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.”

Peace in the Here and Now

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

image-5

Are you presently unable to minister in your usual forum due to health or circumstances that are beyond your control? While I encourage you to pray for God’s help in the area of your troubles, I also encourage you to be at peace with where He has you.

He never ‘wastes’ the lives nor the deaths of His servants. Ask the Lord to define for you the mission that He has for you within the arena which you are currently ‘stuck.’

The Mary vs. Martha Mindset

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net
by David J. Hall

image-5

The difference between Mary & Martha during Jesus’ visit (see Luke 10 & Matthew 7):

🔹Martha was serving Jesus, but Mary was encountering Jesus.

🔹Martha was doing good things, but Mary was doing the PRIMARY thing.

🔹Martha was being hospitable to Jesus in her home, Mary was being hospitable to Jesus in her heart.

🔹Martha was concerned about what her guests might think of her less-than-perfect hospitality, Mary was concerned with what Jesus wanted to do in her own life.

🔹Martha recognized the special influence Jesus had in their social gathering, Mary recognized the special influence Jesus was having in her own heart and soul.

🔹Martha was good at seeing people’s needs and recruiting others to jump-in, Mary was good at seeing the PRIMARY need and personally drawing near to Jesus for fulfillment.

Prayers That Impress God

A Daily Thought Provoker Quote
from Heart & Path Journal at HeartPathJournal.net
Online Publications of David J. Hall

image-5

New to prayer? Don’t worry, God isn’t impressed by prayers said with poetic verse, nor prayers offered in King James English, nor prayers that are filled with reciting long theological words and terms.

However, He is impressed when we pour out our soul in our own language: the language of our own heart!

When Our Crown Becomes Thorns

A Daily Leadership Essentials Quote

from Veritas Leadership Journal at HeartPathJournal.net

image-5

The Crown for Leadership which becomes a Crown of Thorns should not be a surprise, it is not a strange thing. Jesus warns us that if people hated Him, they would hate us too. So, in the words of Peter, it was ‘to this you were called’ (1 Peter 2:20-23)

How did Jesus find the strength to endure and to keep depression at bay while people hated Him? ‘He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly’ (v.23). He did this through praying alone often, very often!
