Respect for Police

We are all well aware of the national stories of cops-gone-bad. But, even if up to 1% of the police force is bad, we are not justified in being rude or rebellious against the 99% that are good.

“For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.”

~ Romans 13:3

Good cops absolutely cannot tolerate bad cops. I have family and friends who serve as police officers, and their service and lives are made extremely difficult and dangerous when bad cops do bad things in their communities.

The good cops are people too. They aren’t robots that function without feelings or without passion for their communities wherein they serve and protect.

Bad cops need to be reported. Bad cops need to be weeded out of the police corps. Bad cops need to be prosecuted.

Just as importantly, good cops need to be commended by their communities. Good people need to be encouraged into serving as police officers. Good cops need to be protected by those whom they serve.

Every time that I see a police officer (and other Emergency personnel) I pray for them. And, if their lights are going, I pray more passionately.

To All of our Law Enforcement personnel, both Men and Women, THANK YOU for your great, good-guy service!
