My Fellow Pastors,
There is nothing wrong with positive, feel good messages… If they are sent through us by God’s Spirit.
Though eating ice cream is refreshing in the moment, a steady diet of only ice cream will create a body that is overweight, and will degrade the body’s organs and chemistry. Likewise, feel good messages rarely result in repentance from sin, repentance being the only way that we can by faith approach the cross of Christ.
We want to preach what the people want, but we need to preach what the people need.
Micah was a prophet that was raised up in the midst of other prophet-types who were preaching anything except what the people needed, not to mention what God was saying.
God is looking throughout our nation for people who will accept the same calling, anointing, and mission that Micah accepted from God.
“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.”
~ Micah 3:8
He was called and anointed with Holy Spirit power to identify and declare to his homeland its sins, calling for national repentance and a wholehearted return to God.
As for today: Where is Micah? Where is TODAY’S Micah? Where are You? Are you a Micah? Will you be a Micah?
Let’s pray a prayer of acceptance of the Micah Calling, Anointing, and Mission. Let’s see what God might desire to do with us today in this 21st century.
