Jesus set the example for us when it comes to serving others. From washing the feet of His disciples (an act usually reserved for the lowest level of servants), to laying down His life for His friends, His service was sincere, joyful, and flowed from a genuine humility.
There are times when people need some help in ways that are less than glamorous for us. Instead of grimacing and clenching our teeth at the thought of how demeaning it would be for us to serve them, let’s reach down deep into our heart and soul to stir up a sincere service that is done with real joy and genuine humility.
God’s plan for us is Greatness… Greatness through the role of a mature servant who loves their work, and who loves the people whom they serve.
“…the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”
~ Luke 22:26-27
