As followers of Christ, let’s not be shy (and certainly not too proud!) about letting the light of Christ radiate from our lives through our actions and speech.
Our faith is not a private matter, it is to be as public as the Cross was for Christ.
“If anyone is ashamed (as in, too shy or too proud) of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
( Mark 8:38 / in parentheses is added for clarity )
A lot of the time that we hesitate to publicize our faith and Christ is likely due to our own lack of confidence in ourselves and our proper representation of Him.
Have no fear! Christ, most of all, knows just how imperfect we are, though daily we struggle, crawl, and claw our way forward in our journey toward that distant destination called Perfection. He STILL wants us to be His lampstands, His lighthouses, His bolts of lighting that light up our world.
He is confident that His light within us is worthy of shining!
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
( Matthew 5:14-16 )
Let’s be sponsors of the glory of our Heavenly Father.
